I wasn't born in New Jersey. I was actually born in Connecticut on March 25, 1983 and lived there until I was 5, then I moved to Pennsylvania and lived there until I was 10, and then I finally moved to New Jersey. It's a very resourceful place, being only 45 min away from NYC and I made a lot of good friends in NJ, but something I couldn't stand is how materialistic people are.. it was especially apparent in high school. When you live in a place relatively close to the city, importance is placed on money and possessions. This is part of the reason I love Vermont so much.. there's room to get away from everything and enjoy the peacefulness of nature. But, part of me will always be a Jersey Girl. ;-)
My name - Meredith - is Welsh and supposedly means "guardian of the sea." I was a swimmer for 10 years but when I stopped when I went to college. I do miss it sometimes... everything about it. I feel that being aquatic is part of my essense. The reason I'm not doing it in college is because at UVM the girls swim team is division I, and there's no way I'm motivated enough for that. Last year at UVM, Rori and I did Broomball, which is sorta like hockey with sneakers on.. it's fun... and UVM has a really nice fitness center that I visit frequently. I like mostly all other sports (like biking, skiing, soccer, football, etc..) and alternative and rock music.. more recently I've been into classic rock. If you'd like to know what I'm made of, here goes: I'm 50% British, 25% Croatian, 12.5% Danish, 10% Irish, and 3% Native American. On April 25, 2001, my friend Kristen and I both got tattoos! My tattoo is a pink flower that is on my right hip. How to describe my personality? I'm can be a pretty understanding and open-minded person, I love helping people out on whatever. I do like trying new things when opportunities come up. I appreciate art and poetry and I love life's little pleasures. I have a weakness for candy and cheesy romance.. I can be quite random and quirky but if I don't know you very well, I usually keep my crazy self inside. In general, I'm just weird I guess... but that's what makes life fun. I've actually been watching TV more frequently since I've started working. When I come home, I shower, make dinner, watch tv and chill out. We have an Adelphia Cable/Internet package that includes 210 channels. Pretty awesome. Usually I watch That 70's Show, Friends, Seinfeld, Felicity (reruns), Will & Grace, Sex and the City, Scrubs, Blind Date, Law and Order, Spongebob Squarepants, Dexter's Laboratory, MTV2, MuchMusic, and VH1Classic
